Autumn Kyiv enchants me with its ever-changing palette. Being in your own place is a source of power. Since returning from the US, I’ve done what was most important and let the rest go; I’m not rushing to start anything new. My body has one priority: Rest!

Many of you have signed up to read a Kind of Refugee recently. Below is a selection of pieces to revisit events and insights from the past half year.

21.04.2022 — in which our heroine realizes that russia’s atrocities have shifted the threshold of what now can be called unimaginable

06.05.2022 —in which our heroine discovers her inner warrior

03.07.2022 — in which our heroine asks you, dear readers: Have you not noticed that russia has been challenging and eroding the very agreements / conventions / institutions that Western international politics has relied on to support the existing global world order?

06.08.2022 — in which our heroine leaves Mykolaiv abruptly

23.08.2022 — in which our heroine contemplates patriotism and admires the Ukrainian Armed Forces
