Hi Elizabeth, Thank you! Yes, the Birds of Fury site uses Way for Pay, which is a widespread secure payment system. And I've been helping the Birds with fundraising for nearly three years now. Happy to answer any other questions if they arise.
The whole world (from my POV) was horrified and angered by Trump’s treatment of Zelensky in the White House. So many current and former world leaders have made that clear. I can promise you that Canada will never become the 51st State. He is trying to bully the world with his tariff threats. Canadian provinces are all fighting back. It’s ironical that he will likely be the instrument of more provincial and territorial unity in Canada than any prime minister or accord has ever been able to achieve.
Hopefully other nations will step in to fill some of the aid gaps for Ukraine.
As a reasonably educated (MD, PhD) supporter of yourself and Birds of Fury, I feel I should comment.
There is no torture sufficient enough for Putin. We (Americans) feel deeply for the Ukrainian people.
Additionally, the Biden administration did too little, too late. It was wishy-washy and only emboldened Putin.
I don't believe Ukraine can defeat Russia. Putin doesn't care how many of his young men are killed. He doesn't care how much his people might sacrifice. Ukraine and Russia are now in a war of attrition
So—how do we stop the carnage and let Ukraine rebuild?
Inasmuch as Ukraine cannot defeat Russia, there must be a negotiated settlement—as distasteful as that might be to a population that was viciously attacked by a ruthless man that doesn't deserve to breathe.
For its own sake, the U.S. cannot commit troops. However, if it can place U.S. engineers, consultants and businesses physically in Ukraine following a negotiated settlement. Putin will think twice about attacking such entities. That is the security we can offer. And we can help Ukraine rebuild.
Sadly, we cannot bring back brave fighters. We cannot relieve the sorrow and tears of the Ukraine people.
I voted twice for Mr. Trump. I do not like his persona. However, his policies are good for America. I firmly believe that if Harris and Walz had succeeded in being elected, this country would be doomed. But that's a different discussion.
Larissa, i want to support the fund but want to be sure the site is secure. Can you vouch for it?
